That brings me to suspect that ArmA3Sync is perhaps the one at fault here, maybe the server's FTP needs some tweaking for the application to have a steady connection, maybe the application is at fault here, maybe I forewent some crucial step, who knows? Depending on how many people who play in our servers use this method to keep their mods up to date, this could pose a problem. So I went around the problem: realised it was FTP, fired up my FTP client (WinSCP), connected to it, and downloaded the rest of the files with relatively no problem whatsoever. Forcing it to one connection didn't help things. After which, I either have to pause and unpause the download (which I suspect it actually resets the download completely from scratch, perhaps the chunks it downloads aren't big enough at that point to support resuming) until it does the same thing again. Once it reaches a certain time (about a couple of minutes or so) the Progress monitor freezes completely: no fluctuations in speed or remaining time, nothing is being downloaded. The problem is I have terrible download speed already and for some reason when I use ArmA 3 Sync to download mods ArmA 3 Sync makes my already terrible download speed even slower, to the point where it would take me days even weeks to download a units add-on repository. Been trying to install the mods using ArmA3Sync, and the connection keeps breaking frequently. I'm really trying to join a mil-sim/tactical realism unit on ArmA 3. Its physically impossible to get anything sorted out with connection breaking every few seconds.
